![]() To this day, despite the success of Mo’s Bows, each and every bow is handmade by Mo and his mom. Together with his Grandma, Moziah Bridges handcrafted their first bow tie, a tradition that has become a staple of Mo’s Bows. Moziah Bridges originally started making his high quality ties by hand and selling them on Etsy. This then became the foundation of Mo’s Bows, a company he set up in 2011 when he was only nine years old! Mo’s Bows ![]() The result that was he wanted to make his own bow ties. He asked if she would teach him how to sew and she said yes. Mo Bridges was also fortunate to have a grandmother who had worked as a seamstress. He also did a lot of research as to where he could sell his bow ties, originally settling for Etsy. After ding some research, he found that there weren’t many high quality bow ties on the market. He recalled that he wanted to buy one however his mother wouldn’t allow him to buy one. He recalled that he was at the local mall and he saw some very expensive bow ties on display at the mall. ![]() Mo Bridges also recalls a memory of a time when he was nine. He says that it was his father’s dress habits, that gave him his first taste of the fashion industry. He claims that his father used to wear suits and dress smart to go around the house. Moziah Bridges claims that his whole life has been geared towards fashion. Now, we aim to cover another teenaged entrepreneur, Mo Bridges, the founder and CEO of Mo’s Bows, the largest handcrafted tie company in Memphis Tennessee. ![]() We recently covered Rachel Zietz, the 22 year old owner and CEO of Gladiator Lacrosse. However, you might not have realized that he did all of this whist balancing homework and still going to school! Personally I find little benefit to TOM on B16 over the Sorkin/ Bigsby bridges.Moziah Bridges, more commonly known as Mo Bridges by the media, is the owner and CEO of a bow making empire. TOM BRIDGE: They will fit into the open B16 opening without a problem BUT you must measure exactly the bridge location because once the holes are drilled they're there! A 7.25 you may need to take the E, A, B and high E saddles down a little BUT NOT BY MUCH. If you have a 9.00 inch radius neck you won't need to alter the bridge in my experience. I use 11s with a wound 3rd on all my Bigsby equipped guitars. Assuming you are using a tele neck it will be most likely 7.25 or 9.0 radius. Radius you can actually determine the radius by altering the bridge if you need to. Filing will be fine it will just take a lot more time. It is best to grind the edges down if you have access to a grinder. I strongly advise that you do not cut it down to fit (though it can be done and I have done it). Yes you will need to reduce the size of the base of the bridge to get it to fit. I've used a lot of B16s and had a few with the Sorkin bridge here are my experiences:įirst I'll assume you know about installing a shim cut at the correct angle to pitch the neck angle back. I'm already aware that I'll need to shim the neck and have one that's ready to go.Īny thoughts, ideas, or help you guys have to offer would be greatly appreciated! I have no idea what to look for in that department. However, what kind of base would I put them on in the B16 opening? I'd need something with posts that fit those types of bridges. Jazzmaster and Gibson style bridges keep coming up in online searches. Anyone know what the radius of the Sorkin is? Can it be changed to fit a neck? TOM Bridge: I've read that quite a few players have gone with tuneomatics of some sort. A bigger concern, however, is the string radius of the bridge. But I'm cheap and wanna use what I already have if possible. Has anyone had this issue and tried cutting aluminum? If it's too hard I'll just order it. I could either file the aluminum base to fit into the opening or order one from TK Smith. The first, is the base that came with this bridge does not fit into the opening of the Bigsby unit. I'm leaning towards flatwound strings anyway. I understand that it's best suited for a wound 3rd string and that's totally fine with me. Sorkin Bow tie bridge: This is what I currently have. I've read some other great threads on here discussing Bigsby B16's at length but still have some questions concerning the bridge to use with this system.
